EPS Germany 16 week 13 stats recap

Since there were only 5 matches played in week 12, we decided to skip one week and add that week's results to this week's recap. The season itself is coming to a close, and a lot was settled after 12 more matches were played in week 13, but also a lot remains open.

Mousesports had trouble outside of EPS in these couple of weeks, with a somewhat unsatisfying finish at Arbalet Cup Europe (5th-6th) and a disaster at KODE5 Germany where they dropped out at group stage. But, in the week between the two LAN tournaments they recorded two more wins in the German league which secured them the top spot in the regular season. These victories came in matches against ESC 16-2 and Nanoxia 16-7, and mouz have therefore kept their winning streak at perfect 13 wins out of 13.

TBH recovered from their slump, despite an unsuccessful KODE5 Germany campaign, as they are back at2nd place in EPS after two new victories. First one was against mystical Lambda 16-4, and the second, much harder, versus n!faculty 16-14 in the latest IFNG in Bremen. They are also the second team to book a spot at the LAN Finals, while two more remain up for grabs.

Alternate are the biggest favorites for one of those 2 spots, as they will need only 3 points from their remaining two matches. The reason they're not there yet is that they were shocked by Hardware4u this week with a 13-16 loss, which dropped them from 2nd to 3rd place.

Four more teams are in the running for a top4 spot, and first one in line of them are Frankfurt 69ers, currently sitting at the 4th place after a win and a loss. Despite the good table position, their chances are not so great, since unlike the other teams, they only have one match left to play, which will be against Alternate, and their placing will also depend a lot on the results of other teams.

Two more of those four teams, n!faculty and Hardware4u, will meet each other next week, and the loser will beout of the running for top4, while the winner will have a pretty good chance of making it to the Finals even without needing to win the last match.

The last team with a theoretical chance for a top4 placing is You Don't Know Me, but they will need a huge miracle in order to make it. Not only do they need to defeat the top two teams so far, mouz and TBH, but they also need all of their rivals to lose their remaining matches, except for Hardware4u and n!faculty's encounter, which they need to end in a draw.

The most successful team in the last couple of weeks is mTw, as they collected 7 points from 3 matches, and they have successfully battled against relegation gathering a total 18 points for a safe 9th place.

However, a lot of teams are still in trouble because the battle continues for them, as those placed from 10th-14th will have to play the Relegation tournament, while the last two teams, 15th and 16th, will be directly relegated to ESL Amateur Series. Currently occupying the last two spots are Nanoxia and so far win-less cwG, but they both still have a theoretical chance to save themselves with a couple of good results at the end, so it will interesting to see what happens. Player performances

Despite there being 17 matches to choose from in the last two weeks, most of them were pretty close, so not many individual performances stood out.

Top rated performance was achieved by Roman "roman" Ausserdorfer in mouz's first post-Arbalet match, against ESC, where he was practically flawless, with an 18-3 T-side first half, while he also got at least one kill in 13 of the total 18 rounds.

Direnc "seraph" Öz led Alternate to a victory against Tera with his great play, especially on a couple of eco-rounds where he got 3 kills in each and helped his team win them.

Another mousesports player finds himself on this list, Antonio "cyx" Daniloski, who was also quite dominant in the match versus ESC, where he even had a kill more than Ausserdorfer, but also was killed significantly more which slightly reduced his rating.

Kai "blood" Wagner, mTw's mid-season acquisition, had a great game against Alternative, helping his team secure crucial 3 points with 27 kills in 23 rounds.

In the end, we have Max "ODIE" Knappe's two great performances, first against Frankfurt 69ers when his team n!faculty won, and then in defeat to TBH in IFNG Bremen.

Team performances

Mousesports find themselves with the best team performance thanks to their display against ESC. TBH also performed great in their victory over mystical Lambda with the whole team pulling their weight, all 5 members with ratings over 1.1. And nothing could separate Alternate and mTw's good performances against Tera and Alternative respectively, so they share the 3rd place.
