SK secured a confident win over Winstrike in the semi-final of Moche XL, beating the Russian side 2-0 (16-7 Inferno, 16-7 Mirage).
The series started on Inferno, SK's map pick, with Winstrike grabbing the CT pistol after holding off a B site offensive in a 4v4 situation. The Russian side built on that, winning the anti-ecos, before grabbing the crucial first buy thanks to Savelii "jmqa" Bragin and Nikita "waterfaLLZ" Matveyev retaking A in a 2v2.
SK were 5-0 down when they managed to steal away a pistol-armor round, punishing Winstrike's aggression, and started building off of that. With a couple of consecutive rounds going their way, SK broke Winstrike's economy and built momentum, finishing the Terrorist half 9-6 up.
The Brazilian side then added on to their lead by winning the CT pistol and two followups before Aurimas "Kvik" Kvakšys and Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov turned a 2v5 around in the first buy round, making the score 7-12. However, losing the next round put Winstrike in a tough economic situation which SK capitalized on, proceeding to win the map 16-7.
Winstrike was once again off to a good start on the second map, Mirage, winning the Terrorist pistol and going up 3-0, even though Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo made the last round expensive as he sniped down three with the Scout. With rifles in play, SK tied the score at 3-3 with a couple of confident CT-side holds, but the match would swing back the Russians' way, with a safely played 2v1 against Marcelo "coldzera" David giving them a 7-3 lead.
Facing a mixed buy in the next round, Winstrike faltered, Fernando "fer" Alvarenga and Jake "Stewie2K" Yip secured opening kills which SK managed to convert on, starting a streak of their own. Before the end of the half Ricardo "boltz" Prass secured an anti-eco ace and his team went on to take the lead again, 8-7.
SK broke into the B site on the second pistol and after kills were traded, FalleN resolved a 1v2 to advance his team's lead and put them into the driver's seat to close out the game. In the second-half rifle rounds, FalleN's troops displayed relentless aggression, breaking into both bombsites swiftly, with Winstrike unable to hold them back at all, and the score was soon 15-7.
To close it out, on match point, fer got a double entry in ramp, taking down two enemies with a single spray of the AK-47, and his teammates followed up on it to finish the map 16-7, 2-0 for the series.
