ESL has announced the first details about season two of the Australia & New Zealand Championship, featuring an increased prize fund of 20,000 AUD (~15,000).
Just days after the end of the inaugural season of the ANZ Championship Season 1, the premier tournament for Oceanic Counter-Strike teams, ESL has formally launched the second season, with the prize pool having been doubled from the 10,000 AUD that were up for grabs last time.
The top four teams from season one have been invited to compete in the second iteration of the league, where they will be joined by four other teams.
Athletico Brotherhood will try to defend their ANZ Championship title
Three of the remaining spots will be award to teams via an application process, which will run until August 5, with the final spot being determined by an open qualifier scheduled for August 14.
Athletico Brotherhood won the first season of the ESL ANZ Championship after beating Parallax 2-0 at the offline finals, which took place in Sydney.
